Well, these are going to be some long posts... A year ago Nicole applied for a chance to go to Italy with other kids in her class. There were two teachers from the Junior High and their wives that were the main chaperones and organized the whole thing. They did an awesome job, considering there were about 45 kids and 15 adults. We started out flying to Milan where we caught a bus to Venice. We arrived in Venice in the early evening and took a ferry over to our hotel which turned out to be a sports complex that they use for visiting teams so it was very modern. One funny thing we discovered while in our rooms was that you had to put the room key in the light slot for the lights to turn on.

Our first glimpse of Venice. I couldn't believe that I was finally in Italy.

We ate dinner in our hotel that night then woke up early to take a ferry back into Venice. We toured the streets and shops and took lots of pictures then we all got to go on a gondola ride.

I LOVE VENICE!!
I loved all of the narrow streets and cute little shops
The girls with a gondolier - I'm sure he was loving it!!
So Venice is very famous for their Mardi Gras celebration as well as blown glass. Here the girls are modeling some masks that they found in the stores.
Not sure what they were doing at this point, maybe just letting us sit in the boats and get good pictures.
