Track season

Nicole decided to try a season of track this year.  She realized that she really like the high jump so her typical events were high jump, a medley relay and the 200 m sprint.  She had a good time especially after her muscles got used to the change in routine.  I'm thinking that the social aspect of the season was her favorite part of track.

Katie, Trinity, Maddy & Nicole - the dream team on relay.
Her first track meet was in Moscow and as is typical of spring in Moscow, it got cancelled half way through because of rain, and a little bit of hail.  We did get a pretty rainbow out of the deal.
This is what track is all about, right?

Volleyball season

Ashley got to join Nicole in the Club Volleyball ranks for her first year.  Her team started the season with very little experience and make such a huge improvement every game.  She had fun sharing the season with friends Grace and McKenna.

Nicole's season was a huge success!!  She figured out her serve and was able to get it over the net very consistently.  Her team ended up winning the consolation bracket at the Moscow tournament.

 Moscow tournament win!!!
Crazy hair day at one of Nicole's practices
Funny story on these pictures... someone pulled the fire alarm so the whole gym had to be evacuated and the girls spent 45 minutes outside running around and posing for pictures (some in front of the fire truck)

Skiing... yayyy!!

This was a great year for us to ski.  Ashley being in 5th grade was eligible for the "Ski Passport" that Idaho offers all 5th graders.  For about $20 she got to ski at every resort in Idaho (and some Washington) twice.  Unfortunately, we didn't make it to all of them :) but it gave us a lot of incentive to go more than usual.  We took the opportunity to take Nicole's friend, Katie, for her first time and see some beautiful snow.

We spent Spring break at Schweitzer during a very heavy snowfall period where they couldn't even get the runs groomed on a daily basis.

Katie's first tow rope (at Lookout Pass)

We also got a chance to take Miles to Bluewood.  He's been taking lessons every week and was sooo good.

Our third day at Schweitzer... going through the trails with super deep snow was probably not the best idea.

Happy Birthday Ashley!!

I can't believe that Ashley has already turned 11!! In true Hanson form, we had to have more than one celebration.  Ashley REALLY wanted to go to Banyan's (on the WSU golf course) for her family birthday, so our Coeur d'Alene family was wonderful to come down and join us for church then brunch.  The next weekend we took her friends Grace, McKenna and Rachel to Sky High in Spokane to jump on the tramps.

Chukar wanted to celebrate too!!
